A few days into November I was driving through a semi-rural neighborhood not far from where we live, and I was stunned to see the house in the photo.

As someone who since 2005 has paid Homeowners’ Association dues, and has thus been obligated to humbly proffer to the proper official paint-chips of our proposed house color, and beseech for its approval, I immediately said to myself, “There’s no HOA within a mile of this house.”

The next thing I said was, “These people love yellow—not pastel yellow, or yellow-brown, or yellow-green, or orange, but yellow.” And along with this preference, they had an emphatic desire to brighten the neighborhood with it.

This little hue of mine
I’m gonna let it shine . . .

How courageous are you in letting it be known that you are a Christian – not a rubber-stamp knee-jerk politics-shackled Christian but a Christian from which the unabashed brightness of Jesus’ love can brilliantly shine?

All around the neighborhood
I’m gonna let it shine . . .
Let it shine till Jesus comes
I’m gonna let it shine.
