These wild raspberries were growing alongside the trail near South Tiger Mountain. We see lots of salmon berries, but I don’t often see wild raspberries. I’m sure if someone knows where to look, they are reasonably common.
That reminds me about this text about God’s law of love.
But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
James 1:25
An interesting aspect of God’s law is trying to look at things from other people’s perspective. The farther our situation is from another person’s, whether it is economical, distance, or gender, it can be difficult to empathize. But when we realize how our unconscious biases play into our normal thinking, we can consciously choose to look at things from a careful perspective. Combined with God’s commandments, we can develop a healthy empathy for others.
Just like it takes some looking for wild raspberries let’s take a closer look into the perfect law: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=exodus+20&version=NIV
