Tuesday of this week, on my post-meal walk, I passed by this familiar yard. At Christmas, the people who live in this house always put out a lavish decoration display, most of it homemade. The above animal isn’t one of those decorations—I’d never seen it before—but knowing this family to be kind and considerate, I’m assuming that they discovered this toy somewhere, decided it was lost, and obligingly parked it facing the sidewalk so that its owner might see and claim it. (Friday afternoon I walked by this yard again, and didn’t see the animal. Hopefully it’s back in the home and the heart of the one who loved it.)

Waiting isn’t always easy. There’s uncertainty about it. Will the person I’m waiting for arrive, and when? Or will the prayer I’ve been praying receive an answer?

The Bible is inspired by the Expert on waiting. God has been patiently working on the hearts of humanity to prepare them for His coming, and He longs for our reunion far more than we do. By inspiration, He has provided in His Word some helpful advice about waiting. Here’s the link:
