Some might think this is getting close to one end of the earth, others might think it’s close to home. Either way, the image you see was taken near the border of Wyoming and South Dakota, on the way to the Crazy Horse Memorial. Even though we can see a beautiful location, with the blue sky, scattered fluffy clouds, and green sagebrush covering the prairie – it can also feel isolated, lonely, and disconnected.

What if someone feels that way in their life – lonely, isolated, and disconnected? How can they find hope? Is there no hope to be found when you are desperate to feel a connection?

Fortunately, there are several scriptures that remind us of God being with us, no matter where we are and what the circumstances are. One specific example of this is when Moses was no longer going to be leading God’s chosen people and instead, Joshua was going to take on that role. God wanted Moses to inform the Israelites what to expect.

Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Later, in Joshua 1:9, straight from God to him, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Can we cling to this promise today? Are we able to take solitude in the fact God is with us, wherever we are? The answer is YES. Not only has He promised to be by our sides, but He also desires the chance to walk with us. Praise God He is with us always, to the ends of the earth (and everywhere in between).
