I liked this image because light is shining through from the back of these Rhododendrons to expose the rain drops. It made me think about how when people do good things it is not just them, but God’s light shines through them.
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:6
I sometimes think about our spiritual relationship like physical fitness. Very few of us are truly as fit as we could be. We can always find someone who can run faster, lift more weight, or jump farther. We are all on a progression.
One question I think can help with physical fitness is, why not get in better shape? Even if it means starting by lifting a can of soup five times instead of one. It can be done without pain or getting sore. We can find ways to improve and feel better and work out kinks that plague us.
In the same way we can look for little ways to grow spiritually, even if it means starting with two minutes a day and adding a little each day. We can ask ourselves, why not get better?
Letting light shine through us isn’t automatic, but it is easy if we take it in little steps and grow, especially when God is providing the energy.
