I captured this photograph of Glacier Peak from the Granite Mountain Lookout. The
straight-line distance is approximately fifty-one miles.

In the foreground, Bryant Peak is on the right and the shoulder of Chair Peak is on the
left. Chair Peak appears to be the tallest. However, Glacier Peak reaches a height of 10,541
feet; while Chair Peak crouches at 6,238. Thus, our point of view creates a false
perspective.

This photo encourages me to seek a better point of view. “For my thoughts are not your
thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher
than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your
thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9).

Just as reducing distance in this photo would improve its perspective, proximity to Christ
would enhance our walk with Him and improve our daily point of view.
