Outreach Team News

Thank you to our church family for their generosity in blessing others.  Sometimes things don’t go exactly as planned.  Some of the locations nearby that originally were open or accepting donations when we started the drive had either closed or were not accepting donations at the end of the drive so the items were donated a little outside our region, but all to people in need.

We donated all the mens/womens items to Friends of Youth.  They have locations in Kirkland, Redmond and Seattle.  They offer a variety of services (shelters, group homes, transitional homes, safe places) dedicated to serving youth and young families facing circumstances of homelessness, foster care and behavioral health challenges.  They focus on ages 12-24.

For the younger kids items we donated to Holly House for Kids. Holly House began in 2006 as a grassroots operation at a local food bank. From 260 low-income children the first year, Holly House now serves 2,200 low-income children (infant to 17 years old), in primarily 16 schools in the Edmonds School District.  Their children are cold, often going to school without socks and underwear. Many of the families are homeless, and may live in shelters, their cars, or in sub-standard housing.  Because of Holly House and the community, the children have the opportunity to get the things they need to lead warm and happy lives.

Thank you again for being the hands and feet of Jesus.  Please continue to pray for each one of the people who are receiving these items that they ultimately may know how much Jesus loves them.
