Dear Church Family and Friends —
Many of you will remember Gene and Kim Trent, who were beloved members of our congregation for several years, during which Gene served as our head elder at one point. Yesterday (Wednesday, July 22) I got the following happy news from him, which he has given me permission to pass along to you. Below is the invitation to the virtual service he descibes–and which contains a photo of daughter Pastor Taylor, her husband Pastor Eustace, and son (maybe future pastor) Daniel Eugene!
GENE WRITES: Hello there pastor. Hope you and Shelley are doing well. Taylor and Eustace wanted me to pass this along. The actual ordination service and baby blessing happened last week but this will be the official church family viewing. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, Kim and I were not able to make it so this will be our time to see it too. Daniel Eugene is almost a year old and just started walking this week. Thanks to FaceTime and videos we are able to catch each day’s new surprise.
Taylor is doing well as Director, Chaplain Service at Simi Valley Adventist Health hospital. Eustace is the pastor of Canoga Park SDA in Simi Valley so all is well with them. Hopefully one day post COVID-19 we’ll all be able to see each other again. Until then, mask up, social distance, shelter in place and wash hands will be our mantra.
