When I saw this picture I thought, well that is the last of the leaves. But after pondering it over I decided it wasn’t the last of the leaves. They would continue providing a softer trail and perhaps fertilizer for future plants. Next spring will bring more leaves.
It reminds me of the words of Jesus, and how, when we think about it, the words in the Bible are not the last words. When Jesus returns there are bound to be more words. Perhaps He will explain in more detail about His plan for us. Regardless of what Jesus says, we know it will be encouraging.
Here is an example of encouraging words from Jesus.
“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me—just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.”
John 10:14,15
It is encouraging that He knows us and gives His life for us. It makes the future brighter and we know that one day we will see the promises fulfilled. What we have now is not the last word.
