Last Sabbath morning Shelley and I arrived in the little drive to the east of our church, our usual parking spot. As I was getting out of the car and retrieving my briefcase from the trunk, I glanced up to see warm and delightful lights.

This is the north wing of our church, and it was ablaze with light. The lower floor contains—reading from left to right—the Junior-Earliteen, Kindergarten and Primary rooms, with the Beginners (infants and toddlers) room across the hall to the west.

On the upper floor is our fellowship hall, which houses one of our four adult Bible study classes, and then our popular potlucks following the worship services the first and third Sabbaths of each month. Other adult classes (including one in Spanish) meet in the south wing.

Can you imagine all the spiritual light which has glowed within each of these rooms, year after year? Can you imagine the hearts which have been encouraged and inspired as the Bible is open and God’s love unveiled?

By the way, if you’d like to bask in this glow, let me give you an official pastoral welcome to join us Saturday mornings starting at 9:30. I think it’s a truly bright idea!
