It is wonderful to see kids looking for ways to help. In this picture my granddaughter is helping to tighten up screws on a kid’s kitchen step stool (or at least trying to). She regularly helps her mom with cooking, even though it turns out to be more work for mom. But good habits develop young, so it is worth it.

As we get older, we seem to get cautious about helping. Sometimes it is more work than we bargained for. But sometimes the simplest actions can help tremendously. It takes thought to discern each new situation and to look for ways we can help. Often just words of encouragement can help.

Let’s try to be innocent and helpful as we go through our daily activities.
