If you have ever smelled plumeria before, I would venture a guess just by looking at this image, it brings back memories of this particular fragrance to your mind. The aroma from these flowers is amazing, and the flowers are quite stunning as well. A magical combination indeed.
In a recent Sabbath School class, we were talking about the fact that when someone doesn’t believe in a divine presence when it comes to creation, it has to be extremely challenging. To believe that “whatever” million years ago, a spark occurred, followed by a set chain reaction, resulting in everything we see, hear, smell, taste, and touch–wow, talk about a leap of faith.
The planet was created, we know that. We know God, with His own hands and voice, designed all the things around us – including ourselves. The human body is an absolute working miracle of a machine. One small aspect of those incredible systems is the fact we can see these beautiful flowers and think of the amazing fragrance they share with us. In person, we can thoroughly enjoy them. God created them for us, for our enjoyment. That flower, that sweet smell, that was not due to a spark or collision of space rocks. No, that was the result of a loving, caring, and imaginative Heavenly Father wanting us to smile and enjoy something, while we wait for His return.
Now, some of you may be able to just walk outside (after reading this) and stand in front of one of these beauties (depending on your location). While most of us will need to wait for our next adventure to a tropical location. Either way, when we get our chance, take the time to reflect on how thoughtful our God truly is.
If you are wondering, this particular shrub can be found on the grounds of the Hilton Waikoloa Village, on the Big Island of Hawaii.
