If the saying is “Spring has sprung,” then I guess we now have “Fall has fallen.” If you live in the greater Seattle area, you have been seeing signs of the coming months of Fall. The weather gets a bit greyer, the air has a crispness to it, and of course the leaves start to share their ongoing beautification. On a recent walk near our home, this stream and beautifully colored tree were highlights. This time of year not only brings out these gorgeous hues of reds, yellows and oranges, but also the thought of a bountiful harvest of blessings.
Psalms 67: 6 & 7:
The land yields its harvest; God, our God, blesses us.
May God bless us still, so that all the ends of the earth will fear Him.
I know we are a few weeks away from Thanksgiving, but I believe it’s never too early to to show our thanks to our Creator. Take a moment to review your year – did something major happen? A new job? A new friendship? An answered prayer? Maybe you are thankful for good health, or a peace you’ve longed for. Whatever blessing(s) you have received, don’t keep it to yourself. Thank God for it and share it with others. When we share our blessings with others, they recognize their own. Thank you, God, for all you have done for us this year and every year prior!
