In the Northwest it feels rare to see a blue sky. If you ignore the power lines, we have some days like this one where the sky opens up and we see the sun.
I searched for Bible verses with the word sun in them. There are verses warning against worshipping the sun. Here are some verses I liked.
May his name endure forever;
may it continue as long as the sun.
Then all nations will be blessed through him,
and they will call him blessed.
Praise be to the Lord God, the God of Israel,
who alone does marvelous deeds.
Praise be to his glorious name forever;
may the whole earth be filled with his glory.
Amen and Amen.
Psalm 72:17-19
I can’t help but think about the environment we live in. We take so much for granted with blue skies and a warm sun and a host of other things we need.
If we were on mars and watched a sunset, it would be mostly gray with hints of pink, blue, and green. The sky would have dull colors. https://science.nasa.gov/solar-system/planets/mars/what-does-a-sunrise-sunset-look-like-on-mars/
Even though we have various challenges in our lives, let’s look around and marvel at the glory of God around us.
