Here is a recent photo of Mount Rainier. I seem to take a lot of pictures of this mountain from a regular hiking area. The mountain has a grounding effect for me. It reminds me that God doesn’t change and he is interested in our lives and cares deeply for us.
People can come up with new technologies and new ways of living, but one thing seems to stay the same. I’ll come back to that in a moment.
Technology is an interesting subject. Through history and archaeology, we can see some of the technology used in the past. The 1800’s brought industrial technology and better transportation. Pioneers and cowboys carried a fair amount of technology along with them. Earlier in history, clay pots were an advancement over cooking on leaves and skins. Going way back, tools such as hand axes and traces of campfires show evidence of primitive technology.
I think these verses are interesting.
For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ
Titus 1:11-13
We always have the need to treat others in an upright way. In this age of increasing technology, some things don’t change.
