Sometimes I need to make sure a letter gets into the postal system earlier than our cul de sac’s mail delivery late in the afternoon. If so, I make sure I drive the letter to the post office before 10:30 a.m.
A few days ago when I was making such a delivery, I glanced up at the logo on the building. I was surprised at how faded it seems. The logo faces south, and thus gets the sun’s glare several hours a day. I can’t be sure that its colors were once the familiar red, white and blue, but if so, I can’t see them any more. Therefore the now-humble tones of this logo don’t seem as official as they were before.
But they are, of course. Letters brought to this building go into the same postal machinery which faithfully operates all over the nation, no matter how crisp or dreary the signage.
Some people wonder if God’s 66 Scripture-letters are as meaningful as when they were written. People who think this way simply haven’t made a practice of thoughtfully and prayerfully reading these letters’ words.
