This photo was taken while I was running my car through an automatic car wash (hence the colorful soap) this past week after a long weekend away. I hadn’t even been on any dirt roads but had managed to acquire quite a layer of dirt and dead insects and bird droppings on my windshield just from (mostly) highway driving.
The car looked much better after its bath and I wasn’t afraid to touch it or brush against it in case the dirt rubbed off on me!
I like these verses of David from Psalm 51. This is considered a psalm of repentance.
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from Your presence,
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
Psalm 51:10-11 NKJV
and the Message version:
God, make a fresh start in me,
shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life.
Don’t throw me out with the trash,
or fail to breathe holiness in me.
