This is the trail to Middle Tiger Mountain, which is slated to be logged soon. We wanted to see it again, and we sure wish these beautiful areas would not be logged any more.

Shelley Schurch’s earlier blog inspired me to think about happiness with a lot of good points. I like how gratitude is an important part of being happy. We can be happy for the people and things we have in our lives. We are all going down a path and sometimes we have choices to make about which branch of a trail to take. We have hills to climb and we can decide to be happy going up the hill and be happy going down the hill.

We can’t always change the trail we are on. However, there are choices along the way that can improve the journey. We can choose to be more patient, more helpful, braver, more encouraging, and more grateful. Then there are times we can give everything to God because we don’t have the strength.

As we follow the trail ahead, we can think about what makes up true happiness and how God and people fit into that. Back to the Middle Tiger Trail, they say there will be a view of Mount Rainier after the logging. So, while we still want them to stop logging, there will be some consolation.
