By the look of this lawn, I would say, Yes — we are still in winter. If you live in the Seattle area, the last couple of weeks have been very mild, when it comes to winter weather. Then, in the last couple of days the temperature has dropped and when I was out for a walk one morning, I came across this scene. The outside temperature was hovering in the low 20’s — thus the frost covering the blades of grass and fallen leaves.
Beauty in all things. It doesn’t matter if it’s 23 degrees and frosty, or if it’s 75 and sunny – God provides beauty everywhere. The question is, do you take the time to enjoy that beauty? I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “Stop and smell the roses” (or more generally) “Be sure to smell the flowers along the way.” Either way you recall the saying, it’s very true. Whenever you have a chance to pause and see the beauty around you, it gives you the correct perspective — God is good.
So, if it’s still winter in your area, bundle up and check out the frost, snow and crisp air. If you are lucky enough to be in a warmer climate, sunscreen up and take in the sunshine, blue skies and warmth. In either scenario, give God the glory for it all.
