Hopefully it is not too late to talk about mothers this week following Mother’s Day. If you haven’t read Shelley Schurch’s Mother’s Day blog entry below, please read it. The photo above is a sunset over the Olympic mountains taken on Mother’s Day weekend.
Something I ponder over is the depths that mothers love their children. Being in an imperfect world, moms wish things could be better for their kids and it breaks their hearts when anything bad happens. I met a mom who was studying physics in hopes of learning about time travel. After some dialog, I learned she wanted to find a way to go back to make things better for her children. I’d call that love. I think things like that are why the following verse is one of my favorites.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:3
What a great time for moms that will be when things are perfect for their kids and we will have all the time there is.
