Earlier this week I had the opportunity to work from home, and as I was plowing through emails from the day before, I saw an orange reflection off one of our windows and went to investigate the source. What I saw was far better than anything I was able to capture in the image you see. The colors were incredible. The warmth which the sunrise exuded was amazing. Simple but astounding at the same time. A start to a day that we all needed.

The creation of light started a long time ago:

God spoke: “Light!”
And light appeared.
God saw that light was good
and separated light from dark.
God named the light Day,
he named the dark Night.
It was evening, it was morning—
Day One.

This is The Message’s interpretation of Genesis 1:3-5. I like this translation as it is straight forward and succinct. God starts the creation process and He decides light (the opposite of darkness) is an important part, and has the power to speak one word and make it so – “Light!”. I love that. Not only does God provide a way for the inhabitants of the univers to see what God creates next, but it shows the power of God as well.

The next time you have the chance to see the sunrise, remember what that means – God is ALL powerful and God is ALWAYS watching out for us – giving us exactly what we need, at the exact moment.
