Faith in Action

If you’ve been a reader of these Daily Photo Parables for awhile, you might remember other times I’ve shown pictures of this neighborhood mini-farm. Usually I’ll show the recently-planted corn, as I have above, and later in the year I’ll upload a shot of the mature stalks upholstered with corn-on-the-cob.
If I were to knock on this agriculturalist’s door and ask, “Doesn’t it take a lot of faith to put that little seed in the ground?” The householder’s brow would furrow in puzzlement. “No, not really. The seed always grows.”
Do you see the point about faith? The more we get to know God, the less “step-in-the-dark” faith we actually need. If we have thoroughly absorbed the knowledge that “if God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31), then we can move more confidently into an uncertain future. We still may not know how, or when, or whether God will work things out the way we’d prefer He did. But we still know that He will take care of us.
