This is Lila Lake looking over to Hibox Mountain near Snoqualmie Pass. I always like a nice lake and mountain scene, but something fascinating here is all the people who found a spot to camp. There are ten people in a tight group near the bottom center of the picture. Then there are tents all around the lake. As we walked around, I was surprised to see several people in hammocks near the trail.

On busy weekends it can be challenging to find a spot. It can be like that in life where it is difficult to know where our spot is with any particular group. I looked for a Bible text that might give some advice and I found this one.

“Whoever is patient has great understanding,
but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.
A heart at peace gives life to the body,
but envy rots the bones.
Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker,
but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.” Proverbs 14:29

Maybe the trick to finding a spot is not in being quick and grabby. But being patient, at peace, and kind is a good way to interact with others.

We were not staying the night this time, but we were excited to find our son who was camping at a nice view spot on the sunny knoll behind and to the right of the lake.
