It is fun to talk about what kind of super powers we would like to have. The ability to fly, have unbreakable skin, invisibility, etc. would all be fun to have. But most super powers are imaginary and are not real. Once in a while we might wonder what kind of super powers are real. They may not be as exciting as the ability to stop time, but there can still be a certain clarity and exhilaration in realizing the good things we can actually do.
“He traveled through that area, speaking many words of encouragement to the people, and finally arrived in Greece,” Acts 20:2
I think encouragement can be a super power that anyone can have. The log in the picture made me think about how it is easier to sit and do nothing. It might take kind encouragement for a person to actually get up and do things worthwhile. The opposite, where people discourage or are critical, can cause lots of problems. There are some challenges people face where the best help comes from gentle and thoughtful encouragement.
Let’s think about how we can be super encouragers to help each other to do great things.
